ILOILO City – Police were still trying to determine the motive in the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old resident of Oton, Iloilo.
Philip Caso of Barangay San Nicolas, Oton was found dead at the town’s public plaza on Saturday evening.
He and a 21-year-old friend, Rustom Ticao of the same village, were walking at the plaza when attacked at around 7:50 p.m., said Chief Inspector Gervinson Moyo, Oton municipal police chief.
A group of six to eight unidentified men approached them. A commotion ensued among them, and then Caso was stabbed on the stomach and the back, police said, citing witnesses.
