Federalized by Mocha

MOI LOVES this: the social climbers, so-called “disente”, the self-appointed guardians of morality, padres and madres de cacaos and the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” are squirming in their yellow Marks and Spencer knickers again.

And it’s not that ants somehow got into their knickers and drawers but the latest news about Presidential Communications Operations Office or PCOO assistant secretary Margaux Justiniano Uson a.k.a. Mocha and just the thought of it are making them extremely uncomfortable.

Although some people are saying it’s just probably envy because it’s Mocha and not them and moi is not surprised but rather expects this kind of violent reaction about anything remotely related to PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson.

So what’s this all about? Well, they’re about to be federalized by Mocha. Sounds rather kinky and suggestive? Rather the opposite. But then again that would depend on your orientation.

Excerpts from the Aug. 2 story on inquirer.net:

Mocha to campaign for federalism to Filipino masses on social media

Using the power and reach of social media, Communications assistant secretary Mocha Uson said she would campaign for a shift to a federal form of government down to the masses.

Uson said she would help President Rodrigo Duterte’s Charter Change committee through social media to explain to Filipinos why shifting to federalism would bring change to the country.

“Sa social media, isi-simplify natin ang pagpapaliwanag sa masa (ng federalism),” Uson told reporters at Malacañang on Thursday.

The Consultative Committee (Con-com), which Duterte has created to draft a federal Constitution, had said that it was tapping Uson to help the information dissemination for federalism.

Con-com spokesman Ding Generoso said more Filipinos would know and understand federalism if Uson were to help them inform and educate the masses.

“She can write about it in her column in the Philippine Star and blog, which has a wide reach. That would help increase awareness,” Generoso told reporters in a text message.

We all know that 99.9 and ¾ percent of the social climbers, so-called “disente”, the self-appointed guardians of morality, padres and madres de cacaos and the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” are vehemently opposed to the shift to a federal form of government just because it’s the “hated” President Rodrigo Duterte that is espousing for it.

Why, even that former Chief Justice Hilario Davide who is rabidly opposing federalism is willing to die fighting against any amendments to the 1987 Constitution. How utterly melodramatic, so telenovela. It’s as if there will be “battle lines” drawn and he will man the “barricades” and die holding the flag.

This makes it so weird considering he is from Cebu which stands to benefit when the government shifts to a federal form.

The pain waking up every morning and Rodrigo Duterte is still President compounded with the thought that Mocha Uson will be the “face” of the information campaign on federalism is just too much to bear. It’s like rubbing salt to their already bleeding hearts.

The thought that it pisses them made a lot of natives happy just like the fact Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima is in jail, Meilou Sereno was booted out, and Conchita Morales is no longer the Ombudsman.

“Happiness comes in simple ways”…

But really, why Mocha Uson and why not a lawyer, someone ask.

There are lawyers and there are lawyers and then there’s Kiko Pangilinan. Need I say more?

When Sen. Panfilo Lacson, a retired policeman, schooled Senator Pangilinan, a lawyer, on the provisions of the Constitution and left him hanging in mid-air, he single-handedly destroyed whatever credibility some lawyers have in these islands.

Again why Mocha Uson?

According to Con-com spokesperson Generoso; “Uson will be doing her regular duty as a PCOO official in disseminating information about federalism to the public.”

“Asec. Mocha is part of the PCOO — the Communications arm of government — and whatever role she plays in the federalism info drive is simply in the performance of her regular duties as a PCOO official,” he said.

So there, nothing really special or dramatic about it. She will be doing her job as a government worker.

On top of that (pun intended) Mocha Uson is Assistant Secretary for social media and that is the platform she will be using.

She has five million engaged followers, more than the followers of all three major networks combined (ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5) and that is social media power nobody in his right mind would ignore.

She will not be creating new concepts or ideas on federalism. She will simply disseminate the information provided by the Con-com to her five million followers on social media.

Is that so hard to understand?

Maybe you’d much prefer Jover Laurio or Maria Ressa but then again why preach to the already initiated? It does not really matter even if Kris Aquino or Mother Teresa is the “face” of the information campaign on federalism, it’s all about Duterte and you hate him. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
