ILOILO City – The volume of shabu seized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas so far this year were lower than those recovered from January to June last year.
“Lately, makita naton nga damo kag dalagko ang nakuha sa mga operations both diri sa Iloilo City kag Bacolod City. Pero kung i-compare gid naton sa data last year, mas gamay ang aton na-confiscate subong,” said Atty. Bomrad Abonado, PDEA Region 6 spokesperson.
As of June this year, PDEA-6 confiscated 16,353.4534 grams of shabu worth P111,203,483.
Below is the breakdown of the confiscations:
* Aklan – 11.632 grams
* Antique – 19.1662 grams
* Capiz – 1,272.3475 grams
* Guimaras – 96.4277 grams
* Iloilo – 2,465.6039 grams
* Iloilo City – 5,219.6009 grams
* Negros Occidental – 1,773.4235 grams
* Bacolod City – 5,495.2517 grams
PDEA-6 data further showed 628.6478 grams of seized dried marijuana leaves. These were valued at P75,437.
Aklan confiscated 0.1329 grams of dried marijuana leaves; Iloilo – 0.9685 grams; Iloilo City – 10.9834 grams; Negros Occidental – 605.432 grams; and Bacolod City – 11.131 grams.
The provinces of Antique, Akla, and Guimaras had no confiscations.
In addition, 72 marijuana plants valued at P14,000 were recovered by PDEA-6 this year. All were from Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, in the first half of 2022, a total of 20,410.2852 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P138,789,939, were recovered. Below is the breakdown.

* Antique – 13.676 grams
* Capiz – 808.0222 grams
* Guimaras – 8.2265 grams
* Iloilo – 648.3236 grams
* Iloilo City – 1,059.1649 grams
* Negros Occidental – 9,546.9297 grams
* Bacolod City – 8,286.8126 grams
PDEA-6 data further showed 1,774.3725 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P212,924 and 147 marijuana plants valued at P29,400 were seized last year.
Abonado assured they would continue to make efforts to curb illegal drugs in the region./PN
