BACOLOD City – Arnold Minalin was about to pacify a commotion at a birthday party when he got shot.
The 43-year-old resident of Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental ended up in a hospital.
Police have identified a suspect – Jerry Recafort Sr. of the same barangay.
Minalin was at the birthday party of a one “Teting Demitila” in the village when the commotion ensued at around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, a police report showed.
When Minalin was about to break up the fight, Recafort emerged with a .38 revolver in hand and fired at the former, hitting him on the buttocks, police said, citing witnesses.
Minalin was confined at the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City.
Witnesses told the police the suspect fled after the shooting, bringing the weapon with him./PN
