Filipino-Canadian among 157 killed in Ethiopian plane crash

KALIBO, Aklan – The 24-year-old Danielle Moore, a Canadian born from a Filipina mother, was among the 157 passengers on board when Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 that crashed after takeoff from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Sunday, March 10.

Moore, a graduate of Francis Libermann Catholic High School in Toronto, Canada, was en route to the fourth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya.

Her mother reportedly hailed from Barangay Toledo, Nabas, Aklan and migrated to Canada.
“Their family, whenever they come home for vacation in Nabas, is known to be private. They do not usually mingle with their neighbors,” a source who requested anonymity said.
Danielle Moore worked as an education chief for Canada Learning Code, a Winnipeg-based organization that advocates coding education to indigenous youth and people with disabilities.

Among the fatalities were nationals from 35 different countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia and Canada./PN
