Filipino fashion designer Ito Curata dies of COVID-19

RENOWNED Filipino fashion designer Ito Curata has passed away.

Curata, best known for his bridal gown and Filipiniana designs, died Thursday of pneumonia, having contracted the coronavirus disease. 

He had been confined for a week at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center, a tribute from luxury magazine Lifestyle Asia said, before he succumbed to the illness.

Curata was admired for his “creative eye and opulent flair.”

He was a veteran of the fashion industry for more than 30 years, and had worked with a host of notable clients, ranging from Hollywood actress Sharon Stone, to former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, to local celebrities such as Bea Alonzo.(ABS-CBN)
