ILOILO City – To make the May 12 national and local elections more efficient, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) launched a nationwide “Precinct Finder” tool yesterday, April 23. The online platform, available at https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph, allows registered voters to easily locate their designated polling places ahead of election day.
Jonathan Sayno, Election Assistant II for Comelec-Iloilo City, explained that the initiative aims to save voters time on election day by helping them find their polling precincts and numbers in advance.

“This tool will make it easier for voters to confirm their polling place and precinct number ahead of the elections, instead of wasting time searching for it on the actual day,” said Sayno.
Voters will only need to input their full name, date of birth, and registration location to access their information.
For those without internet access, Sayno encourages voters to visit their local or city election office as early as possible to confirm their polling details.
“You don’t need to wait for election day. You can check now at your local Comelec office,” he said.
The tool also benefits senior citizens by reducing the stress of searching for their precincts on the day of the election.
Sayno stressed that voters should check their details early to avoid any last-minute complications.
In a bid to ensure the security of the tool, Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia assured the public that hacking attempts would be difficult due to the trained personnel overseeing the system.
He emphasized that no data breaches have been reported and that voter information remains secure.
This early launch of the Precinct Finder exceeds the original timeline set by Comelec, which planned to make the tool available two weeks before the elections.
