AKLAN – A fire completely destroyed a house made of light materials in Barangay Mabilo, Kalibo town on Sunday night, April 21.
The house was owned by 75-year-old Jonalyn Barrera.
Damages from the blaze amounted to P17,150, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Kalibo.
Fire Officer 1 Emmanuel Orale of BFP-Kalibo said the fire started at around 9:30 p.m.
Orale said it originated from a candle that was left lit near the altar.
He added that Barrera’s mentally challenged child, who was alone in the house when the fire broke out, was not hurt./PN
