ILOILO City – Fire gutted a house in Barangay Poblacion East, Oton, Iloilo.
The house was owned by Bessie Retaña. She was not around when the fire struck.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), neighbors spotted the fire razing the back portion of the house (kitchen area) around 9 a.m. on Jan. 4.
Because the house was made of light materials, the fire spread quickly.
Damaged was estimated to have reached P100,000.
The fire’s cause was yet to be ascertained as of this writing./PN
