BORACAY – Fire razed 11 houses in Zone 3, Sitio Sinagpa, Barangay Balabag here. Ten were totally gutted.
The fire started at around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 25, according to Bureau of Fire Protection-Malay’s Senior Fire Inspector Lorna Parcellano.
It spread quickly because the houses were made of mixed light materials.
The Fire Engine 31 Shift B personnel of the Boracay Fire Sub-Station responded.
The blaze was raised to first alarm.
A “fire out’ was declared at 1:28 a.m.
Nobody died or got injured in the fire.
As this was being written, investigation was still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
The Boracay Fire Sub-Station’s initial estimate of the damage reached P300,000.
Fire trucks of the Boracay Fire Rescue and Volunteer and Fairways and Bluewater Boracay, volunteer firefighters of Kabalikat Civicom 961 Boracay, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, barangay tanods of Balabag, Boracay police as well as the water tanker of Boracay Island Water Company helped contain the blaze./PN
