ILOILO – Fire razed four houses in Sitio Sapa, Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas town around 12:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Two houses owned by Roberto Magtanong and Nestor Brendia were totally gutted while two others – owned by Mark Anthony Detablan and Nathan Octaviano – were partially damaged.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Dumangas estimated the damage at around P120,000.

BFP-Dumangas’ Senior Fire Inspector Roberto Tamayo said the fire broke out in Magtanong’s house made of light materials. The fire, fanned by strong winds, quickly spread to neighboring houses.

Tamayo said it took them over an hour to declare a “fire out” at around 1:50 p.m.

The BFP-Dumangas is still investigating the cause of the blaze, but they believe that the fire may have been electrical in nature./PN
