Fire hits Mandurriao homes

ILOILO City – Two boardinghouses were totally gutted while a house incurred partial damage in a fire that broke out in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district past noon yesterday.

The boardinghouses were owned by Adelino Balino and Jona Lacson and the house was Nena Salpin’s, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.

According to Fire Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, city fire marshal, the blaze started from Balino’s boardinghouse.

“Because it was made of mixed materials, madasig naglapta ang kalayo,” Ploteña told Panay News.

No casualties were reported.

“As to the cause sang sunog, pending for further investigation pa,” Ploteña added.

A “fire out” was declared around 12:46 p.m./PN
