ILOILO City – A pawnshop on Mabini Street, City Proper caught fire around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Bystanders reported the incident and even helped stop the fire from spreading.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel immediately responded and tried to open the roll-up door to enter and secure the area.
“Fire out” was declared by the BFP by 8:01 p.m.
According to an initial report, the electrical outlet inside the establishment sparked and started the fire.
BFP’s investigation is still ongoing as to the estimated cost of damage./PN
