BACOLOD City – Two separate fire incidents were recorded in this city over the Christmas weekend.

A structural fire took place on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at Hervias Dos Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte.

The 15-minute blaze left approximately P180,000 in damaged properties.

According to the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), they received the fire call around 12:01 p.m. at the house of 38-year-old Noefe Alonsabe Sr.

On Saturday, Dec. 23, at least five houses were completely destroyed while one suffered extensive damage following a major blaze in the coastal community of Purok Bolinao in Barangay 1.

The BFP said the fire started shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the house of a certain Raffy Tragona.

With most of the houses made of light materials, the blaze reached “2nd Alarm” status. At least eight fire trucks were needed to prevent it from further spreading.

A “fire out” was declared around 7:28 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident.
