BACOLOD City – Properties worth about P800,000 went up in smoke after fire hit a residential area in Barangay Poblacion 1, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The blaze started gutting four houses along Avanceña Street around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
It was put out but not before it totally destroyed the houses owned by Sheila De Los Reyes, Robelyn Fuentes Arnaiz, Rosemarie Pellado, and Thelma Taguiwalo.
According to an initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection in Sagay City, the blaze originated from one of the houses’ kitchen.
The cause of fire was still undetermined as of this writing.
Aside from the houses, a tricycle and motorcycle owned by retired policeman Crispulo Arriola were also totally damaged./PN
