ILOILO City – Fire hit the barracks of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s 2nd Maneuver Platoon in Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay, Iloilo.
Tuesday’s fire around 10:30 p.m. was preceded by a series of explosions, initial investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection and Janiuay police showed.
It took responding firefighters some 30 minutes to put out the fire.
The barracks was made of light materials.
Also burned were two motorcycles, two M16 armalite rifles, a .45 pistol, assorted ammunitions and clothes of policemen.
“Dahil sa init siguro kaya pumutok ang mga bala. But we are thankful na walang nasaktan,” said Senior Superintendent Harold Tuzon, Iloilo police director./PN
