KALIBO, Aklan – A resident of Barangay Pawa, Nabas, Aklan was arrested after guns and ammunitions were found inside his house on Friday.
The 44-year-old Eduardo “Edwin” Francisco yielded one 12-gauge homemade shotgun, one .45-caliber pistol, two steel magazines, 11 ammunitions of .45-caliber pistol, camouflage inside a holster and a brown tactical sling bag.
According to Senior Inspector Benjo Clariti, chief of Nabas police station, Francisco admitted to owning the weapons and ammunitions.
Clariti said he was accompanied by members of the Aklan Provincial Public Safety Company in the implementation of search warrant which was issued by Judge Bienvenido Barrios Jr. of the Regional Trial Court in Kalibo, Aklan.
The police chief added that the suspect’s neighbors always complained about his frequent indiscriminate firing in the barangay.
Francisco is also under investigation for possible involvement in the previous shooting incidents in Nabas town.
The suspect is facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulations Act. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
