ILOILO City – A company offered setting up a system that will ease up the processing and issuance of police clearances, health certificates and work permits at city hall.
Through the one-stop shop application center, Eastland Printink, Inc. aims to “automate the processes and introduce online mechanisms to enhance the security, productivity and efficiency of the system,” said vice president for finance Robert Bunagan.
All stations processing the abovementioned documents will be linked and share the database of derogatory records, the company said.
“This strengthens the vetting of the applicants and gives an assurance that an applicant with a derogatory record will not be given a police clearance in another locality,” said Bunagan.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod committee on police matters mulled over the proposal during a public consultation last week.
Committee chair Joshua Alim said the “offer of service … must be subjected to a bidding, or Swiss challenge.”
The proposed system will spare the public from the hassle of visiting three offices in processing their documents, and the company assured that it has security features that will ensure that the clients’ documents will not be tampered with, Alim said.
Bunagan said their company is a security printer accredited by the National Printing Office and has been servicing cities and towns in the National Capital Region, Batangas, Rizal, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Cebu.
“We will supply the consumables, the hardware, and [shoulder the] maintenance of the system,” he said. “We can also provide complement employees to operate the system or train employees of the city [government] to undertake the processing of the documents.” (With PNA)
