Fish vendor arrested for selling illegal drugs

ILOILO – A 48-year-old fish vendor was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation around 7 p.m. on Monday, July 22, in Zone 3, Barangay Calumpang, Molo district.

Alias “Kapid,” a resident of Mandurriao district, yielded five grams of suspected shabu valued at around P34,000.

According to Captain Gimel Acuesta, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS-4), police officers carried out the operation following reports from residents that the suspect was involved in illegal drugs activities.

The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of ICPS-4, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
