ILOILO City – Aside from fish, Eduardo Ansema, 37, of Barangay Tambugo, Dumangas, Iloilo was also selling shabu.
He was caught in a buy-bust operation and detained at the Dumangas police station on July 16.
Policemen recovered from the fish vendor four sachets of suspected shabu worth P500, the marked money that an undercover policeman used, and other drug paraphernalia.
Ansema will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2012.
The local government of Dumangas is waging “war” against drug trafficking. Mayor Rolando Distura has formed barangay information networks to bolster the police’s intelligence gathering on drug traffickers and other criminals.
December last year, information from the networks led to the neutralization of Iloilo’s most wanted man, robbery suspect Eliseo Mabayag, in Brgy. Rosario, Dumangas.
