Fish vendor yields P408K ‘shabu’

ILOILO – An estimated P408,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered from a fish vendor in Sitio Lamintao, Barangay Talisay, Barotac Nuevo.

Suspect John Wilfred Subaldo Cenal, 34, fell in a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 26.

Twenty-one plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 60 grams and P28,000 in buy-bust money were seized.

The operation was carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6, led by Investigation Agent III Jose Ramir Batiugas, along with the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station.

Batuigas said Cenal was obtaining supplies in Negros Occidental.

“Classified sia as a regional target, indi lang na diri sa Iloilo kundi kalab-ot pa sa Capiz ang iya operasyon,” he added.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
