ILOILO City – Three fishermen were rescued after their fishing boat capsized Tuesday evening near the shoreline of Barangay Poblacion, Oton Iloilo.
Fishing boat owner Ronnie Margante, 30, Alvin Aranda,37, and Roger Cantera, 45, all of Barangay Poblacion South, Oton were about do dock after a day’s work when strong winds toppled their fishing boat around 6 p.m.
Insp. Rey Pabalan, Oton police chief, said, “The fishermen were lucky because they were saved by some residents.”
However, their catch had all been washed away./PN
