ILOILO City – Five individuals were arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Benedicto, Jaro district around 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 11.
Meanwhile, the operation’s main subject, Rodel M. Bayoneta, and his younger brother, Romel, escaped.
Bayoneta was a suspected maintainer of an alleged drug den.
Those arrested were suspects Rodel S. Bayoneta, father of Rodel and owner of the house; Edmund A. Bedia of Barangay Bagongbong, Barotac Nuevo; Joebert J. Amalong of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro; Christian E. Magallanes and Ronald S. Palomar of Barangay Benedicto, Jaro.
A total of six plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 30 grams with a total standard drug price of P204,000 were recovered.
According to Police Captain Lester Oliveros, Rodel and Romel took the dark riverside area as escape route./PN
