BACOLOD City – Five men were arrested in an operation against illegal gambling in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The suspects were identified as 65-year-old Carlito Postrado, 41-year-old Ruel Larit, 67-year-old Angelito Abria, 49-year-old Francisco Navales, and 41-year-old Allan Palabrica.
The suspects were caught engaging in an illegal cockfight on Saturday, a police report showed.
Five live game fowls, 10 dead fighting cocks and cash valued around P9,060 were confiscated from the suspects, the report added.
Joint forces from the Murcia municipal police station and Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company nabbed the suspects.
The suspects were detained in the custodial facility of the Murcia police station./PN
