
ANTIQUE – Officers of the Tobias Fornier Municipal Police Station arrested five wanted persons for the crime of grave coercion in Barangay Masayo, Tobias Fornier here.
Aliases “Flor”, 84; “Dioneta”, 62; “Hernando”, 63; “Nando”, 59; and “Leon”, 72, were all residents of the said town.
They were arrested by virtue of a warrants of arrest for grave coercion issued by the Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Tobias Fornier-Anini-y-Hamtic, around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18.
The court recommended a P36,000 bail bond for each suspect for their temporary liberty.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky commended the town’s police personnel involved in the successful operation.
“The arrests of these accused clearly show our unwavering commitment in accounting the remaining wanted persons in the region. Behind this feat, is the strong support provided by the community and other stakeholders in our intensified campaign,” said Wanky.
He added: “Additionally, we remain committed to looking after the remaining wanted and bring them before the courts of law.”
The accused are currently under police’s custody and will be turned over to court concerned./PN
