Flashfloods affect 82,929 individuals in NegOcc

BACOLOD City – Floods spawned by torrential rains of Tropical Storm “Paeng” affected 82,929 individuals from towns and cities in Negros Occidental, according to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

Flashfloods hit 141 barangays, affecting 19,434 families composed of 82,929 people.

A total of 4,252 families composed of 17,504 individuals temporarily sought refuge in evacuation centers.

No casualties were reported in the province.

Damage to houses, agriculture, and infrastructure has yet to be valued by concerned local government units and government agencies.

Valladolid, meanwhile, was the hardest hit in the province, with all its 15 barangays flooded, affecting 4,408 families composed of 21,901 individuals.

In Bacolod City, a total of 289 families composed of 1,164 individuals sought temporary refuge in three evacuation centers./PN
