Many livestock also either drifted away or died, he added.

The damage would likely increase. Napulan said 32 of the 54 flooded barangays have so far submitted their reports.

Three major rivers in Miag-ao overflowed on Monday afternoon – Tumagboc, Oyungan and Bacauan.

Ang overflow nag-extend gid 10 to 15 meters halin sa suba,” Napulan said.

Trapped residents were rescued: three in Barangay Igsoligue, four in Barangay Indag-an and two in Barangay Malagyan. There were no reported casualties.

According to Napulan, Monday’s flood was one of the biggest in Miag-ao.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. heavy rains pounded the town.

“Way man hangin pero dulom ang bukid, nag-umpisa ang ulan mga 1 p.m. Damol. Sige-sige. Mga 4 p.m. amo ‘to pag-umpisa sang baha nga daku,” said Napulan.
