BACOLOD City- Mayor Evelio Leonardia reminded residents here not to celebrate prematurely despite the de-escalation of this City to Alert Level 1.
The National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) downgraded the alert level system of this city from Alert Level 2, last month to Alert Level 1 effective March 1 until March 15 following the decrease of the coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)cases.
âBeing in Alert Level 1 is reassuring and it showed that our policies and practices have been hitting the targets, Leonardia said.
âAt the same time, let us always remind ourselves that COVID is still here. We still need to use face masks because it is still a necessity under the circumstance. Letâs not prematurely disregard all these protocols because even in Alert Level 1, there are IATF guidelines that we need to follow,â the mayor further said.
Leonardia echoed his call for residents to still observe minimum health protocols so that the city can sustain its lowest community quarantine classification.
âVaccination is our way to salvation,â the mayor added, stressing the importance of getting jabbed and being protected against COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education( DepEd) in this city also resumed the face-to-face(F2F) classes for Grade 12 students at the Alangilan National High School (ANHS) in Barangay Alangilan.
