KALIBO, Aklan – The culinary project of the Department of Tourism (DOT) from Dec. 6 to 8 in Iloilo City is expected to draw food exhibitors, farm resort owners and tour operators, agro industry groups, academe, hotels, and restaurants across Western Visayas.
“Kain Na! (Let’s Eat)” features farm and culinary extravaganza of the provinces of Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Antique. It will also showcase the creativity and talents of local chefs on regional cuisine and delicacies.
The Kain Na! Aklan exhibitors include the provincial Tourism office, Destileria Barako and Southwest Tours.
The Bullo Hillside Integrated Farm and Meliton Integrated Organic Farm will also sell locally produced and fresh agricultural products from the province.
Today, the province will treat food enthusiasts in a cooking demonstration of local dishes like “inubaran nga manok,” mixing demonstration of Destileria Barako and degustation feast which brings in the culinary masterpieces that best identify the province of Aklan.
Tumandok it Akean Performing Arts of the Aklan Culture and Arts, Foundation, Inc. will perform with its artistic and cultural offerings to the public through dance and music.
The food and travel fair is open to the passionate culinary and farm tour buddies.
Kain Na! is a series of events held by the DOT in different cities and regions across the country to highlight its culinary tourism and to promote tourist destinations.(With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
