SAN JOSE, Antique – The local government unit (LGU) here has been cited as the best performing among first to third class municipalities in Region 6 in the recent Search for Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) Awards: Rising Above the Challenge of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Mayor Elmer Untaran led his LGU officials and employees in receiving a plaque of recognition, congratulatory banner, and cash incentive during the Excell Awards Friday last week at Smallville 21 hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The Excell Awards 2021 had five categories:
* Excellence in Environmental Governance
* Excellence in Economic Governance
* Excellence in Social Governance
* Excellence in Administrative Governance
* Excellence in Legislative Governance
San Jose was cited for Excellence in Administrative Governance and Excellence in Legislative Governance.
It was a first runner-up in Excellence in Social Governance, second runner-up in Excellence in Environmental Governance, and first runner-up in Excellence in Economic Governance.
“These awards are manifestations of the best public service delivery to San Josenhons,” said Mayor Untaran.
The Excell Awards is an annual awards system of DILG Region 6./PN
