ILOILO City – Inbound travelers fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are no longer required to undergo and submit negative RT-PCR (reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction) test results.
These inbound travelers could be returning residents, returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs), or non-essential travelers and tourists, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.
His Executive Order No. 15-2022 issued yesterday also scraped the quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated inbound travelers.
However, once they develop symptoms associated with COVID-19, they must immediately isolate and submit themselves to swabbing at the covered gym of La Paz’s district plaza. Their specimens would then be tested at the USWAG Iloilo Molecular Laboratory and while waiting for the results they must continue their quarantine.
On the other hand, partially vaccinated and unvaccinated inbound travelers must immediately undergo quarantine upon arrival in designated quarantine facilities or at home.
On the third day of their quarantine, they are required to undergo RT-PCR test at the USWAG Iloilo Molecular Laboratory without cost.
For those in designated quarantine facilities, only upon the presentation of negative RT-PCR results will they be given clearance from quarantine; they may only resume interaction with the rest of the household and society upon the release of a negative RT-PCR result.
In the event the RT-PCR result is positive, subject returning residents must strictly comply with the instructions given by local health authorities.
On the other hand, interzonal and intrazonal travel within the region, other than those coming from Negros Island, are permitted subject to restrictions on the movement of vulnerable sectors.
They must also submit themselves to swab test for free if they develop signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Inbound travelers from outside Western Visayas must still comply with pre-travel requirements such as valid government IDs, confirmed travel itinerary, vaccination card, certificate of residency, Bureau of Quarantine certificate, S-Pass travel permit, among others./PN
