ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Government has invited local and international dignitaries to grace the Dinagyang Festival 2024.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said among the city’s visitors are officials from Guam.
Other big personalities who confirmed attendance were ambassadors such as His Excellency Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke of Germany, His Excellency Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino of Malaysia, and His Excellency Evan Garcia of Norway.
The Nigerian and United States embassies will also send their representatives to witness the festival.
On the other hand, the city mayor confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be unable to attend Dinagyang while they are still confirming First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos’ attendance.
The city government also invited all 24 senators, of whom only Sen. Riza Hontiveros has confirmed so far.
“Tanan gin-imbitar ta, waay ta nagpili kay gusto ta inclusive. Kon sin-o sa ila ang ma-confirm, ready man ta kay ang aton ciudad open sa tanan,” said Treñas.
Uswag Ilonggo party-list’s Rep. James “Jojo” Ang has personally invited Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero along with his celebrity wife, Heart Evangelista.
Ang also invited former Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, along with his wife, the “Megastar,” Sharon Cuneta./PN
