ILOILO City – A drunken construction foreman was hauled to the custodial facility of the Arevalo district police station.
Nilmar Mamon, 42, was accused of stabbing to death a laborer in the latter’s boardinghouse in Barangay Dulonan, Arevalo.
A misunderstanding ensued between Mamon, a resident of Ybiernas Street, City Proper, and Roberto Salcedo, 38, during a drinking binge with friends, police said.
Senior Inspector Jose Val Ladublan, Arevalo police chief, said the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Using a knife, Mamon stabbed Salcedo, hitting him on the right chest and back, police said.
Mamon was arrested after the incident./PN
