Former CTG member surrenders to Army

BACOLOD City – A former member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.

Alias “Junjun,” 44, of Sitio Lagha, Barangay Quezon in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, was previously affiliated with the NPA’s National Negros Front, Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros Central Bureau of Staff, which has been on the National Prosecution Service-Regional List.

The surrender took place at the 2nd MP Patrol Base, 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, on Dec. 21.

Junjun turned over one .38 revolver with one round of ammunition, one blasting cap, and one round of 40 mm grenade ammunition.

He will undergo processing and documentation for endorsement of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program and the Project: Pag-ulikid Initiative. These initiatives aim to provide appropriate project benefits to former rebels who choose to reintegrate into society.
