Former Iloilo City police station chief one of 10 outstanding Filipinos

ILOILO City – Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Pablito, former police chief of this city’s Police Station 1 and Malay, Aklan police station, was adjudged as one of the 2021 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos.

Pablito is presently the assistant chief of the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Police Strategy Management Unit.

Exemplars in the academe, military and police sectors, the 10 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos were composed of four teachers, three soldiers and three police officers.

Each awardee will receive P1 million cash, a golden medallion and “The Flame” trophy during conferment ceremonies on Sept. 2 as part of Metrobank’s 59th anniversary celebration.

“Their service and community involvements have helped shape better communities and created a lasting positive impact upon the people,” said Metrobank in a press statement.

Pablito said getting the award is not easy.

“I strived hard and through my hard work in serving the people, I got this award. This will serve as my inspiration to do better and to serve more people,” Pablito told Panay News.

“I’m thankful to the people who believed in my capabilities and to my media friends who served as watchdogs of the government and the police,” he added.

ABOUT PABLITO

Pablito was from Baguio City. He advocates professionalism and integrity in the Philippine National Police (PNP) and is an active member of Christian movements namely “My Brother’s Keeper” and “God Bless Our Cops” that have ministered to thousands of police officers in partnership with pastors across the nation.

He is a loyal husband to Dr. Sharonda Abriam Pablito, and father to Aurora Celeste.

He has two master’s degrees as a Philippine National Police (PNP) scholar, to include Master in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management and Master of Science in International Relations from the Rajaratnam School for International Studies in Singapore. 

He graduated Top 1 in various schoolings:  Public Safety Officers’ Orientation Course, Investigation Officers’ Basic Course, and VIP Security Protection Course. 

He also graduated No. 2 in the Public Safety Advanced Course, Finance Officers’ Course and Police Intelligence Officers’ Course.

He finished No. 3 in Public Safety Officers’ Basic Course and availed himself of non-competitive courses such as Chief of Police Course and Basic Underwater Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Course.

Pablito has dedicated 10 years of his service to the PNP Integrated Transformation Program – Performance Governance System also known as “Peace and order Agenda for Transformation and the upholding of the Rule Of Law” or  P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.

He was also the PNP representative to various radio programs, like the “Sagot Ko Yan” program of former senator Joey Lina.

Other programs by Pablito were the creation of the Medical and Legal Assistance Fund for the PRO-6 worth P4,088,304.09. 

The funds were raised through innovative Police Community Relations (PCR) projects in partnership with the Regional Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development and the projects of then PRO-6 director retired General Cesar Hawthorne Binag. These included “Dalagan Suporta sa Kapulisan”, “God Bless Our Cops” concert and “Swim for a Cause”.

These projects benefited PRO-6 police personnel who are wounded or killed in police operations and those who are facing legal charges arising from performance of their duties. So far, 51 benefitted from the fund.

During his stint as Iloilo City Police Station 1 chief in 2017 to 2019, Pablito focused on the fight against criminality. He assigned 80 percent of his men to the field and 20 percent for administrative works.

When he was assigned in the PCR, he initiated the FEED Program (Furnish, Empower, Educate and Discipline Young Generations) composed of feeding program, slippers donations and dialogues to students in public schools where the children of the poorest in Iloilo City are enrolled./PN
