MANILA – The careers of prospects Kai Sotto and Jalen Green are in good hands as they will be handled by an agent who previously represented Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant.
Sotto’s management team East West Private (EWP) said in an interview with Spin.ph over the weekend that Aaron Goodwin (AG) will be the National Basketball Association (NBA) agent representative of the 7-foot-2 Filipino center.
“From the time Kai (Sotto) first arrived in the United States, we already knew that AG would be a perfect fit. We trust AG implicitly, and we look forward to a long lasting relationship,” EWP’s Patty Scott told SPIN.
Goodwin, for his part, said that he is also excited to handle the career of the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eaglet since the latter has been watching the former’s trajectory quietly from a distance ever since.
“I am excited,” Goodwin said. “Kai (Sotto) has all the tools unique for his size. He reminds me so much of Toni Kukoc. He plays inside-out, can pass, run the floor, and shoot 3s. If he plays center, he can really revolutionize the position.”
“Kai (Sotto) has the potential to be a great player, but the expectation is for him to transcend his sport and become a legacy player and a global ambassador,” he added.
In a separate report from Tiebreaker Times, it also reported that Goodwin was also tapped by the camp of the Filipino-American Green.
Green and Sotto are expected to build a formidable partnership playing for the NBA G League’s select team.
Goodwin had impressive list of golden clients under his belt, mainly Lakers’ Dwight Howard, San Antonio Spurs’ Demar Derozan, and Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, aside from James and Durant./PN
