BACOLOD City – A former purok leader in Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental had been shot to death. Police were looking into four suspects.
The 51-year-old Webby “Dokdok” Tribunal Argabio of Purok Mahogany, Sitio Abtao sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the body.
Argabio was standing in front of Torno’s Store in the village when the still unidentified bonnet-wearing suspects approached and shot him, according to Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan City police chief.
The suspects fled on foot after the incident at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, police said, citing witness accounts.
Argabio was taken to the Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital in Kabankalan where he was pronounced dead.
Eight fired cartridges of a .45 pistol and a slug from the same caliber of firearm were recovered from the crime scene.
Police were still investigating the fatal shooting but were looking at land conflict as possible motive./PN
