ANTIQUE – Four barangays in this province passed the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) 2023 of the Department of interior and Local Government (DILG).

These are Semirara in Caluya town, Apgahan and Magsaysay in Patnongon, and Igbonglo in San Jose de Buenavista.

Barangay Captain Catherine Lim of Semirara was elated to share the good news on her facebook page.

A total of 64 barangays in Western Visayas passed the SGLGB 2023, according to DILG Region 6.

The SGLGB is a performance assessment and recognition system designed to distinguish barangays with outstanding performance across various governance areas.

It also intends to encourage barangays to continuously progress in delivering efficient, equitable and quality public services. It puts primacy to integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development.
