ANTIQUE – Police intervention prevented a violent altercation at a cockpit in Sibalom town after four individuals were accused of cheating during a cockfight.

According to the Sibalom Municipal Police Station (MPS), the four suspects identified as aliases “Ram”, “Nol”, “Alog”, and “Guy” allegedly manipulated the outcome of the cockfight by restricting their rooster’s movement, ensuring bets would shift to the opposing side, on Monday, February 3.

Upon discovering the scheme, furious bettors confronted the suspects, resulting in a scuffle that left the four injured.

Police Major Geremy Ian Magbanua, the chief of the Sibalom MPS, confirmed that the suspects hailed from Pototan, Iloilo; Molo, Iloilo City; Valenzuela City; and San Rafael, Bulacan.

The suspects were detained at the Sibalom MPS for proper disposition./PN
