ILOILO City – Passihons are set to see the WBA super world welterweight championship fight between Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and American Keith Thurman live and free on Sunday morning at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City, Iloilo.
Randy Palomaria, Passi City sports development officer, told Panay News Passinhons and others from nearby communities can start trooping to the venue at 8 a.m.
“All Passinhons and others are welcome to watch the boxing match,” Palomaria said. “They don’t need to bring anything. They can enter agad sa venue.”
Palomaria, however, reminded Passinhons not to bring illegal drugs, liquor, weapons and all types of bottles, as specified in city ordinances to be posted outside the venue.
The free viewing for the Pacquiao and Thurman world title clash is an initiative of Passi City’s Mayor Stephen Palmares and Vice Mayor Jesry Palmares. Pacquiao, who currently holds the WBA world welterweight championship, will attempt to steal the world super welterweight championship from Thurman in the match scheduled for 12 rounds.
Pacquiao will be entering the match with a 61-7-2 win-loss-draw ring record, with 39 stoppage wins, while Thurman has a perfect 29-0-0 boxing record, with 22 stoppage wins./PN
