
ILOILO – Authorities have yet to identify the man who robbed a micro gasoline station in Purok 4, Barangay Daculan, Estancia town on Wednesday night, March 26.
According to the Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS), Rowela Barana Corsiga, 39, and a resident of the town’s Barangay Bulaqueña, was about to close her gasoline station at around 8 p.m. when the robber suddenly appeared and declared holdup.
Police Master Sergeant Dan Jerald Allanic of the Estancia MPS said Corsiga described the robber as around 5’4″ in height, with fair complexion, and was wearing black shorts and t-shirt.
The victim added that the unarmed culprit forcibly carted away the cash box with P5,000 in cash and immediately fled toward the back portion of the gasoline station.
Estancia police meanwhile confirmed in an interview that the suspect pointed a weapon at the victim before taking the day’s earnings and fleeing toward a sugarcane field behind the station.
Police investigations reveal that the suspect is a local resident of Estancia and has a history of theft-related offenses.
Authorities have identified a person of interest and were conducting a hot pursuit operation to track down the suspect as of this writing./PN
