Gatherings, contact sports prohibited in Iloilo province

ILOILO – To curb coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. banned gatherings and contact sports.

Executive Order No. 001-A, Series of 2022 specifically prohibits gatherings that “involve individuals not belonging to the same household” (they include, but not limited to, birthday parties, fiesta banquets, family reunions, wedding receptions, baptismal celebrations, and similar activities).

“Ang contact sports indi man anay naton ang pagpasugtan,” said Defensor.

The governor also adjusted the seating or venue capacity in high-risk establishments and activities/gatherings.

“The following high-risk establishments and activities/gatherings are allowed to operate or be undertaken at a maximum of 30% indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals only, and those below 18 years of age, even if unvaccinated, and 50% outdoor venue capacity; provided that, all workers/employees of these establishments are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and minimum public health standards shall be strictly maintained:

* Venues for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE)

* Permitted venues for social events such as parties, wedding receptions, engagement parties, wedding anniversaries, debut and birthday parties, family reunions, and bridal or baby shower

* Indoor tourist attractions, which include, but not limited to, libraries, archives, museums, galleries, cultural shows and exhibit

* Outdoor tourist attractions, which include, but are not limited to, parks, plazas, public gardens, scenic viewpoints or overlook

* Amusement parks or theme park

* Recreational venues such as internet cafes, billiard halls, amusement arcades, bowling alleys, skating rinks, archery halls, swimming pools, and similar venues

* Cinemas and movie houses

“In-person religious gatherings, gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment, and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19 and for the cremains of the COVID-19 deceased (are allowed); provided that, gambling/gaming in funeral wakes shall not be allowed.”/PN
