ILOILO City — Two suspects in killing a store supervisor last week have been identified.
But Senior Insp. Edgar Anonoy, La Paz police chief, said they could not reveal the suspects’ identities while they remain at large.
CPT Mart supervisor Arjay Loresto of Brgy. Calumpang, Molo district, was found dead in Brgy. Nabitasan, La Paz.
“We have to keep their (suspects) names because they are at large and they have no idea that they are our primary suspects,” Anonoy said.
Anonoy said one of the two suspects was a woman, the other a taxi driver.
The body of Loresto, 30, was found with multiple stab wounds in a grassy area on June 28.
A garbage scavenger discovered the body.
Anonoy said the victim was involved in a love triangle.
The victim’s personal belongings were intact, including his red baseball cap, a silver necklace, two handkerchiefs, a jacket, and a pouch with coins totaling P40.30.
It was learned that Loresto was gay with a young man for a lover.
However, his lover was allegedly in a relationship with an old woman, who was seen near the area where Loresto’s body was found.
Police sources said that, before the victim’s body was found, a heated argument had ensued between them.
Loresto was last seen walking on Luna Street, La Paz./PN
