PAVIA, Iloilo – Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo stretched their unbeaten run in the 2024 Philippines Football League after a 9-0 beating of Philippine Air Force on Wednesday at the Campo Alcantara Stadium here.

Jarvey Gayoso spearheaded the attack with four goals, Marwin Angeles added two connections, while Mar Vince Diano, Konate Bandiougou, and Lee Dokyung added one each for the Iloilo City-based booters.

Angeles opened the scoring for the defending champions Kaya-Iloilo as knocked down a connection from inside the box following a timely pass from Gayoso in the 14th minute.

Gayoso then doubled the advantage in the 21st minute as he smashed one near the post before he capped the opening half with a close-range strike for a 3-0 Kaya-Iloilo lead.

After several minutes of scoring drought, Kaya-Iloilo regained its offense in the 61st minute as Diano connected a header from a corner kick by hometown player Jhan Jesus Melliza for a 4-0 score.

Gayoso then netted his third goal in the 68th minute as he dispossessed a defender before finishing in the top corner. He then completed his four-goal performance with a penalty kick after teammate Robert Lopez Mendy was taken down inside the box.

Bandiogou then joined the scoring spree with his 76th minute goal inside the box, Angeles then knocked down his second goal a minute later, and Lee punched in a pass by Lopez Mendy from inside the box for a 9-0 win.

“I’m very satisfied with everything,” Gayoso said in a post-game interview. I think the goal line reflects the overall performance and overall effort of the team. I’m just proud of everybody for giving everything.”

With the victory, Kaya-Iloilo remained on top with 16 points, on five victories and one draw, while the Airmen remained with three points, on one win and four defeats.
