BACOLOD City – A 14-year-old lass was found dead in the middle of a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda San Jose in Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, whose name was withheld by authorities, was a Grade 9 student and a resident of the said village.
From what the Cadiz City police gathered so far, the victim left her mother’s house around 10 a.m. on Aug. 1. She was supposed to go to the house of his father in Purok Balod, also in the said barangay.
The teen, according to police investigators, was followed by an undetermined number of male individuals and once in the sugarcane field was dragged by the suspects.
The police believed that the suspects attempted to rape the 14-year-old, but due to the victim’s resistance, they were forced to stab her multiple times.
Cops also questioned several residents living near the crime scene and they claimed to have heard the victim shouting in the field asking for help.
When the residents went to the area where they heard the shouting, they found the victim already lifeless.
Police recovered a face mask and a pair of slippers in the crime scene.
