ILOILO City — A nine-year-old girl drowned in a river in Barangay Candual, Panay, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Sofia Bajada, a Grade 4 student and resident of the village.
According to police investigators, Sofia was swimming with her sister Cathlea and four others when the victim accidentally went to the deep portion of the river on Tuesday afternoon.
Sofia was rushed to the St. Anthony College Hospital in Roxas City, Capiz where the attending physician declared her “dead on arrival.”/PN
