MANILA – Global Makati FC recovered from an early blunder to score a 3-1 victory over the Philippine Air Force FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League over at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, Laguna.
Kennedy Uzoka, Marvin Bricenio and Matthew Custodio converted a goal each in the second half as the Global finally breaks into the win column since transferring to Makati from Cebu.
The start of the match, however, was not what Global Makati envisioned. James Dorego committed a huge blunder as he slotted the ball into their own goal in a loose-ball scramble, giving Air Force a 1-0 edge.
Global Makati was poised to pay the price of that blunder until Uzoka levelled the match at 1-1 with a rocket from way out in the 73rd minute of the match.
With the victory, Global Makati rose to fifth spot in the standings with three points on one win and two losses, while Philippine Air Force dropped to sixth spot with one point on one draw and two losses.
Global Makati will attempt for its second straight victory at 3:30 p.m. today when it battles with Mendiola 1991 FC at the Biñan Football Stadium./PN
