MANILA – Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go has urged members of the House of the Representatives to start tackling the franchise renewal application of broadcast network ABS-CBN.
The congressmen, according to Go, must start the ball rolling on the controversial issue, which has been pending despite 11 proposal from the lawmakers.
“Dapat na rin nilang i-tackle ito sa lower House. Sa congressmen, just vote according to your conscience,” Go said.
“Mas lalo nating pinapatagal, mas lalong umiinit ang issue. Pag-usapan ninyo. Ito namang proseso, ‘pag-usapan ninyo then ipapadala dito sa Senado,” he added.
Go said solons should just let Duterte decide whether or not to veto the bill extending ABS-CBN’s franchise for another 25 years. He added the President will express his stand on the issue soon.
“Antayin na lang po natin sa mga susunod na araw kung ano po ang magiging desisyon at sentimyento ng Presidente. But knowing the President, hindi naman siya vindictive at parati niyang sinasabi na vote according to your conscience at unahin ang Pilipino,” Go said.
House of Representatives Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano earlier said the House isn’t in a rush to hear ABS-CBN’s franchise application since the network can still operate until 2022./PN
