
GOLDEN State Warriors clobbered a shorthanded Charlotte Hornets, 128-92, in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning in the Philippines) at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Buddy Hield came off the bench to deliver 16 points, including four three-point conversions, while Draymond Green and Stephen Curry chipped in 15 markers apiece for the Warriors.
Gary Payton II contributed 14 markers, Moses Moody ended up with 13 points, while Kevin Knox II and Brandin Podziemski rounded up the Golden State players in double-digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
With the victory, the Warriors moved up to No. 8 spot in the Western Division with a 31-27 record, overtaking Dallas Mavericks (31-28), which dropped to No. 9 after their 107-99 loss to Los Angeles Lakers (35-21).
KJ Simpson finished with 16 points to lead the Hornets, Seth Curry added 14 markers, while Mark Williams and Wendell Moore Jr. contributed 12 points each as they dropped to a 14-43 record.
Meanwhile, Filipino-American guard Jalen Green scored 25 points as Houston Rockets held on for a 100-97 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Green sank two free throws with 8.1 seconds left before Bucks Damian Lillard missed a pair of free throws with 3.7 seconds remaining and a three-pointer at the buzzer as the Rockets secured a tight win.
Alperen Sengun added a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, Dillon Brooks tallied 16 points and eight rebounds, while Jabari Smith Jr. ended with 13 points off the bench.
Amen Thompson finished with nine points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Rockets before being ejected for committing a flagrant-2 foul on Giannis Antetokounmpo with 4:27 left and Houston up 92-90.
Antetokounmpo posted 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Lillard added 22 points.l, Brook Lopez and AJ Green scored 12 apiece for the Bucks, which had their four-game winning streak snapped./PN
