BACOLOD City – A task force working under the Office of the Solicitor General is helping Negrenses with pending cases related to the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

Task Force Crusaders national commander John Chiong will meet with Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) secretary Rafael Mariano in Manila next week.

Chiong said he and Father Ernie Larida of the Diocese of Bacolod’s Social Action Center agreed to aid CARP beneficiaries with pending cases at the DAR and facilitate complaints on the program.

Ma. Janet Salla of Barangay Campuestuhan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental sought help from the task force.

Her complaint at the DAR had been pending since the time of Virgilio de los Reyes as secretary, Salla claimed.

She said her family is asking a resort to give them a “right of way” because they can only reach their house through the resort.

Chiong said he will ask Mariano to investigate Salla’s claims.

He also urged Negrenses with similar predicaments not to hesitate in seeking help from him or Father Larida./PN
